“I am Ji Nineteen. I shall bequeath thee with… the Ji Clan’s Karmic Severing!” Meng Hao’s body was trembling. He felt as if his consciousness and his body were being ripped apart. His soul felt as if it were in fetters as if some massive force were preparing to wrench it out of his body. 1

He was filled with confusion, and his Cultivation base vanished. Even his Demon Sealing powers disappeared. It was as if he was nothing more than a mortal, so weak that he could do absolutely nothing to fight back.

The only thing he was aware of were the words spoken by the archaic voice, which echoed about in his head.

Hōriki (法力ほうりき, "Power of Buddhist Virtue")
Hōriki are spiritually aware humans who convert Reishi into a spiritual power which allows them to utilize spiritual energies for spells and enchantments. They gather Reishi from their environment, much in the same way Quincy do, however instead of wasting it my turning it into a weapon they channel it into themselves via meditative breathing exercises allowing them to both store it and increase their inner spiritual power. The process of converting the Reishi into Reiryoku also alters it by adding a purifying aspect to it which allows it to actually purify Hollows it kills rather than destroy the souls. This 'Pure' Reiryoku has been described as both poison or acid to Hollow's it contacts. Its natural purifying aspect effects a Hollow's body, which is made of spiritual matter, rather painfully for it purifies the very matter that its made of. Once purified the Hōriki can simply absorb it adding to their own inner Reiryoku effectively making them stronger.

Most of a Hōriki's spells (called Onmyōdō) are used as attacks, defensive measures, or to bind others, and their potency is dependent on the extent of spell-caster's spiritual power. These spells, depending on their requirements, can be triggered by a ritual action, an incantation, a gesture or any combination of these. Some spells may require the use of paper charms or talismans, and other ingredients for various purposes.

The process of increasing one's power is rather limited by both their breathing technique and environment thus a forbidden technique was created which involves sealing a freshly killed Hollow's mask onto ones skin which allows them to access the Hollow Reiryoku within and purify it into Pure Reiryoku (if desired). These Hollow tattoo's, known as Totem Tattoo's, act as pools of Reiryoku or rather batteries that the user can draw from. However if not properly sealed/managed the lingering Totem will (aka the sealed hollow) can influence the mind of the Hōriki and corrupt their soul converting them into a Hollow. This occurs because the Hollow cannot be entirely purified without destroying it thus its mind and will remains within the sealed mask. Despite these risks many battle focused Hōriki have used these Totem's in the past as a way to fight beyond the bounds of a mere human.

1. Enchantments:
   

• Enchantments: Those with tremendous spiritual power are able to enchant and craft objects of mystic power, like the Sacred Jewel. Midoriko, the jewel's creator, used the fabric of her own soul to capture and seal a demonic spirit inside of her body before expelling it along with her spirit, thus forming the Shikon Jewel. Such objects differ from items that might act merely as conduits for spiritual energy (e.g. Kikyō's bow or Miroku's staff), in that the object itself becomes a source of power independent of its creator. The cauldron designed by Lady Kanade which helped to protect Hōraijima is another example of a mystic object created by a powerful priestess.
  
• Curses: Spells such as these affect an object or person in a negative manner (i.e. remotely killing others or mind-control). This was demonstrated by the dark priestess Tsubaki when she cast a curse which killed an unnamed lord. With the Shikon no Tama, Tsubaki was also able to control Kagome and force her to attack Inuyasha.
  
• Sacred Sutras: Sutras are written incantations that act as an amulet or talisman of protection. Normally, they are written on paper charms, called o-fuda (御札 or お札), in order to ward against, reveal, bind, or punish otherworldly creatures (i.e. demons or spirits). Sutras can also used to erect physical spiritual barriers. Moroha had once infused two with her level of spiritual power to create a pale blue spiritual shield.
  
• Sealing: With great enough spiritual power, one can employ a combination of enchantments and barriers to bind a demonic being into a kind of spiritual prison. The ogre found in the Forbidden Tower who was released by Tsubaki is one such example of a demon being sealed behind a barrier of enchantments. Miroku too had cast a powerful high-level spell to keep Setsuna's demon aspect in check. Kikyō also employed a unique method of sealing she called the Arrow of Sealing to pin Inuyasha to the Tree of Ages for fifty years.
  
• Exorcisms: Mid-level monks, like Miroku, are capable of purifying others of evil entities or demons possessing humans by imbuing their sutras with a modicum of spiritual power. Since she chose to remain in the feudal era, Kagome has been taught how to perform high-level exorcisms from Lady Kaede and Jinenji.
  
• Shikigami Conjuration: Spectral entities created and empowered by the creator's spiritual energies. Shikigami are capable of assuming a variety of different forms, from human to animal, and they act under the will of whoever summoned them. They are normally employed for tasks such as spying, stealing and enemy tracking. The dark priestess Tsubaki sent her spirit puppet to collect drops of Kagome's blood whereas Kikyō's shikigami gathered her items like a branch of ōkatama. These spirit puppets can also be used in far more offensive manners, such as to cause bodily harm or even death.
  
• Spiritual Energy Projection/Manipulation: Spiritual energy itself can be manipulated and controlled for a variety of effects. Users can concentrate spiritual energy in the palms of their hands for offensive purposes or focus their spiritual power into energy shields or screens. The size, strength, and durability of an energy barrier is dependent on the one who erected it; the greater their spiritual power, the more resilient their barrier is. While barriers are protective in nature, they can be used for offensive purposes as well.
  

Gu La

Dōmaru - lit 'Body Wrap' aka Totem Warrior

The Dōmaru are spiritually aware humans who utilize 'Totemic Tattoos' which work to empower themselves by sealing hollows within them. In order to create a Totem Tattoo one must simply rip off a hollows mask and fuse it into one's skin as to convert it into a mask tattoo. Then, you would be able to wield totemic power. This process strangely doesn't kill the hollow rather merely suppress it which allows the user access to its spiritual energy.

Hollow attempted to possess user but something wrong happened and user ended up suppression hollow turning it into a mask tattoo.

Human - Soul Release - A ancient branch of humans who learned to fight hollows by branding and sealing hollows within themselves in the form of Totemic Tattoo's. The strength of the user is determined both by the amount of Hollow Totem's they possess and the strength of said hollows. These Totems act as batteries for the user as it is the source of nearly all of their Reiryoku to fuel their heightened human abilities and spells.

Sealing Hollow's directly increase all of the users physical abilities as well as granting them hardened skin and High-Speed Regeneration.

Dōmaru channel their power into three separate arts

• 'Hōshi' (法師, a Buddhist Monk) - Those that channel their Totem's into their physique granting them increased physical abilities.
  
• 'Ama' (尼, a Buddhist nun) - Channel the Reiryoku from their Totems into spells (resembles Cero)
  
• 'Seijin' (聖人, a Buddhist Saint) - Users can also release these Hollow's onto the battlefield to fight for them. If these hollow's die in combat their essence is returned to the user and reform as a tattoo.

Hannya (般若)
Are spiritually aware humans who utilize inner Reiryoku to fight Hollows via sealed Hannya Masks. Hannya draw and channel energy from their masks to fight which are in fact real Hollow masks which have been ripped off from their original owner. The masks, which are originally white, are actually dyed and colored to fit the users preferences during the sealing process.

Hannya further channel energy into their body to increase its physical abilities and further strengthen its durability as well as into their weapons, via enchantments, which allow them to be on par with any Hollows or Shinigami's. When not in use the masks are actually sealed onto the users skin in the form of Mask Tattoo's. Hannya can have many masks sealed onto their body all of which add to the Hannya's power. The more Hollow's a Hannya kills--the stronger they become.

The Reiryoku they give off makes them feel more like Hollows rather than humans making them a target for extermination by unbeknownst Shinigami.

Gain access to Hollow racial abilities while wearing their Hollow mask. High-Speed regeneration, Cero, Garganta, Negacion, Acidic Touch, Soul-Body Separation.

Shinigami eventually put him on a wanted list, Kill on sight orders? or capture.
Killed a Shinigami who was infected with a Hollow/Possessed, Forced him.
Hollow, unbeknownst to PC, escaped and eventually infected another Shinigami and made its way back to Soul Society.
Soul Society invasion arc where PC has to find hollow and kill him once and for all, No Shinigami believes him forcing him to do things 'his way'.

Little sister, dead, liked the Nogaku/Noh plays and would make masks for her brother and friends/family to wear. She died and became a hollow. Still made masks but now they would possess people and she would make them out of other Hollows she killed like a trophy. PC was possessed by a mask. Hollow was supposedly killed by a shinigami, Shinigami was actually possessed herself when she destroyed the hollows body (sister hollows powers advanced to transfer her consciousness). Power lingered in the mask and regained his will, suppressed the masks will, and made it his own.

User possess a genetic mutation which works as a strange type of poison that only effects Hollows. When consumed by a hollow, upon its 'death', instead of dispersing it will instead have its entire body be entirely consumed by its mask

Incubator

Infected with a parasitic embryo hollow, Female Hollow has the ability to inject other hollows, spirits, or living humans with a Parasitic embryo which will slowly drain the spiritual energy from the host over time, grow, and then leave the host (chest burst style). Something happened when user was infected that prevented the embryo from growing as it wished it instead made the user spiritually aware.

DESCRIPTION; Chuurui is not the name of a true Human's soul release but rather the name of a infection in the form of a parasitic eggs implanted in a Human by the Hollow Shoal which, under normal circumstances, would hatch, grow, and eventually eat their way out of the host to return to their 'mother'. However when the user was infected something went wrong and instead of consuming the host after hatching they became passive. Over a year of training enabled the user to learn to control and utilize them to grant her spiritual senses and abilities through them. Unfortunately the only way for the user to become stronger is to make the parasites stronger thus they must consume souls or other hollows.

• Heel of Agony - A curse that specifically targets the users Reiryoku control in the legs and feet, afflicting and distorting it in order to prevent the target from utilizing any form of high speed stepping or movement including air stepping.

• Seed of Deception - A passive ability displayed by all of Ara's abilities. When Ara's Reiryoku contacts another a portion of it enters the targets body (occurs even if blocked by a body part), which enables the usage of her curses, and both stay within them and mix with their own which in turn heightens the targets mental state. This makes those hit by her techniques feel faster, stronger, and more confident as though they were on some sort of drug. That being said it should also be stated that these effects are merely superficial as they do not actually effect their physical state nor do they make them think clearer or better. With every hit by the user onto the target the more the Reiryoku will store in their body which once it reaches a critical mass it will begin to violently react with the targets own Reiatsu, with this reaction eventual resulting in a internal chain of micro explosions causing the target to literally be incinerated from the inside by their own Reiatsu; the stronger the potency of the targets Reiryoku the more violent the eventual reaction.

Hollow has the ability to enter the dreams of others, then torment them which releases spiritual energy for him to consume. Becomes easier every time in succession. He can consume numerous every night thus bringing on less attention onto himself and having stable sources of food.

Has a great amount of Influence on people's dream.
Targets higher spirit individuals.
Can use his powers to spy and gather information.

Natural Ability
Allows the user to enter the dreams of those they are within range of, the user can then absorbe their Reiatsu which is emitted while the target is in an intence emotional state. This allows the target to regenerate their energy over time saving them for future harvest.

Bubble Mage - Turns Reiatsu into a thin sheet that takes on the properties of a bubble.

Character used to be a Shinigami, but nearly 70 years ago he was infected by a parasitic hollow which, while he was able to remove the parasite from his body, unfortunately destroyed his Zanpakuto, its inner world, as well as most of his Reiatsu. He had to sacrifice everything to expel the parasite, which his still alive somewhere, and the end he self exiled himself from Soul Society as the other Shinigami as though they would never say it to his face he could tell by the looks on their faces that they saw him as lesser or as though he was some unclean thing now. Knowing that they would never trust him again, after loosing all of his friends and comrades, he decided to resign from his post and move to the human world where he could live out the rest of his days in peace.

Dislikes Shinigami
Pretends to be a human. His spiritual aura is identical to one through great effort on his part. He purified his Reiatsu to be identical to human through Arrays placed strategically around his spiritual pressure points.

He became somewhat of a drunk

However the experience of the Parasite had done something to his mentality as he became somewhat obsessed with them, their nature, and their origins. He began to study them in hopes to one day not only find the Parasite which had destroyed his life but also find a way to regain his Zanpakuto. Some believed that the parasite changed his soul as well to being closer to that of a hollow.

Former member of the Kido Corps specifically in the research division specializing in Hollows. Created 2 branch's of Kido known simply as Bubble Class Kido and Array class Kido while he was still apart of Soul Society.
- Bubble class Kido is a unique branch of Kido which was his answer to the attempt to combine the destructive potential of Hadō and the defensive use of Bakudō.

Found a way to regenerate his Spiritual Abilities, via killing and absorbing hollows. He discovered the way to replicate the Hollows method of gaining strength via consumption and through the implantation of a Minor hollow within himself where he can then siphon off its Hollow Reiatsu, purify it via Arrays, then use "Pure" Shinigami Reiatsu for his attacks without the fear of being corrupted. He essentially uses his very own limited Reiatsu to purify Hollow Reiatsu. It took him nearly 13 years to find the perfect Hollow for implantation. He had to find one that was weak enough that his Spiritual abilities could control and pacify while one who had the potential to become a higher class of Hollow. He spent years first attempting to draw out Hollows from Hueco Mundo and attempt to trap them yet all of them were far too powerful for him to control. He only found the perfect Hollow when he himself went to Hueco Mundo and found what was essentially a critter hollow. Though during the last of his Hueco Mundo excursions he nearly died and since he has had PTSD about the realm. He requires hollows to become whole yet he is terrified of the realm they are from and most plentiful.

Learned many bad habits in the human world such as Pick-pocketing, sleight of hand, Smoking, Drinking, and being a general degenerate. He works part time at a Temp agency and Part Time as a Exorcist. He makes just enough money to fuel his habits and his apartment.

He appearance and spiritual aura has changed enough that even his former Shinigami fiends don't recognize him anymore. He looks much older and rough. Though to be fair he spent most of his days in a lab thus only his co-workers really remembered him; even his Captain didn't really know him. He was rather... unremarkable or memorable as a Shinigami.

ARC IDEA
Reveal Arc - Reveals that he is actually a Shinigami maybe he uses Shunpo unexpectedly.

Hueco Mundo Arc - A former member of his Division is lost in Hueco Mundo, everyone believes her to be dead due to circumstances and reject a rescue party to be sent. Several other of his former comrade track him down and beg him to help them. Eventually find out details that she was possessed by a Parasitic hollow, the same one that effected him. They have to travel to the "Edge of the World" to get to the Parasites territory and along the way powerful Hollows catch wind of their expedition and hunt them down.

Power - Fire Elemental Charging - Has the simple ability to generate fire from his body, but it can become charged and compressed allowing it to explode with much greater range and damage.
