Elias usually would describe himself as a simple man who is simply looking for entertainment though another once described him as a disturbed and ruthless boy who holds nothing to the sanctity to life; Elias prefers the former. The truth of this lies somewhere between the lines as while it is very true that he cares little to the idea of who lives or dies he would prefer that the "fun" ones stay alive if only for continued entertainment. In the end Elias is simply one who does whatever he likes as long as it pleases him in some way. Another way to describe him, in the most simplest of terms, is "I'm just happy to be here" as if its a experience hes in on it. To those that do not know him he can easily come off as a joyful, charming, charismatic young man... though this is often or not replaced by nightmares eventually. His general mindset is one of a near sociopath where he does no seem to be able to show any expression but joy.
Someone once asked him as to why someone like him, with his personality and quirk, would ever want to become a hero (the latter being more fitting of a villain) and he simply responded "A bet... besides being a villain would be too easy haha". This type of response often or not can cause a great deal of concern for the boys future as he is essentially on a razors edge of being a full blown villain; especially with his quirk. Though that being said Elias likes to see it in a different limelight as while it would be easy to use the standard I-kill-you-and-use-your-corpse, or basic grave robber traits he actually differentiates himself from those by asking permission before using a corpse; organ donors are the best! More so from the simple fact that Elias does not see death as a innately evil thing but rather as another state of being accompanying its eternal pal life.
Elias's nature is clearly showcased on his face in the form of a near permanent smile. This, combined with his innate nature, can be somewhat... disturbing to many as there is nothing creepier than a boy asking you if your a organ donor with a dead faced smile on his face while holding a scalpel. He is also pro death penalty! His extensive knowledge of anatomy and biology is also usually enough to creep people out... well at least in the way he puts it.
There is a deep fondness for fighting dwelling deep within him, a fondness that comes to full fruiting during a intense battle with their life or pride is on the line. While he will do everything he can in everything he does it is battle where his desire to victory truly shines and the perfect place to showcase his deep willpower to win to the point of near obsession! This often or not results in him getting way too into it or raising the stakes too much. Though despite his innate and deep desire to win he has no problems with loosing as he probably learned something from it; next time haha!
The innate desire to fight also manifests itself in a strange trait, a almost sensory like ability that allows him to detect strong opponents in the vicinity though sensing their killing intent; a intent that he is all to familiar with.
He has a strange obsession with peoples mental states as he quite well enjoys seeing what would happen if they were poked in the wrong direction. This often or not leads him into a never ending series of confrontations from pissed off "friends". If he does not feel like interacting that day he will simply settle with his favorite hobby and pass time people watching and if there is no one around he will just settle with reading or watching the clouds.
You can berate him, yell at him, insult or even call his mother a ***** and Elias wont hold it against you... ever. As he will probably be more or less be simply entertained with the conversation. Insulting words, and other such things, simply have no effect on him resulting in his clearly apparent cool and collected demeanor. Which in battle he uses to his full advantage as he can stay focused on the situation at hand and stay steps ahead of his opponents. Against using such words or tactics himself(?), more than willing(!) to break down a persons mind and crawl into their skulls to get an advantage; its fun to watch them get all flustered & break down!
No matter how he appears deep down inside Elias is a cruel, manipulative, and self-centered individual; showing psychopathic traits on more than one occasion. Above all else, Elias cares only about having fun and a good challenge which may or may not involve bloodshed or a simple crossword puzzle. He also can be a whimsical liar and has a tendency to play cruel jokes on his "friends" and victims. Just witnessing their uncomfortable expressions because of him getting under their skin pleases him.

Elias is quite literally the love child born of a mother who was a highly accomplished mortician and the infamous villain Death Matter... yes you heard that right a villain. So to say that his childhood was normal would be somewhat of a stretch though to Elias himself it was pretty normal after your normal is my crazy. His father fell in love with his mother mostly due to her love to her profession as after all he was infamous for essentially being a necromancer. From both of his parents Elias was introduced to the concept of death from a very early age as some of his earliest memories are him playing around in a morgue. Even when he would play with the corpses his mother just told him to not damage them or mess up their makeup. From a early age Elias's father nurtured him to follow in his footsteps as his own occupation of choice allowed them to live a very comfortable life.
Even as a young boy Elias was naturally curious about everything though he took a keen interest in anatomy, most likely stimulated by his mothers occupation, which his parents naturally encouraged. His desire to sate curiosity resulted in his inability to stop smiling and although this somewhat creeped out his mother for a period of time she eventually just got used to it.
Fast forward a few years, Elias started going to school and almost immediately concerns began to rise from his teachers as it was not just the constant formaldehyde smell emitting from him but also that almost within the first few days of class he began confrontations with other students and even got into fights. He called it playing but the other students did not see it as such after he pulled out a scalpel to them. Though despite the concerns of his teachers his parents did not see it as much of a concern as his father often or not congratulated him whenever he would win and whenever he lost he would have him break down the reasons why he lost... even if it took hours.
Sometime before Elias reached the age of 8 his father was defeated and arrested by heroes, an event which cause a great deal of strain on his mother and possibly even broke her a bit for she was never the same. It was after the arrest that many of his classmates somehow discovered the relationship between Elias and his father who would then begin to constantly pester and beat him up behind the school as a sort of 'divine retribution' for his fathers crimes. They also saw it as somewhat of preventative measure as they knew that with Elias' f***** up personality it was inevitable that he became a villain himself; so why not beat him down now. It was during one of these sessions that one of the kids beating him up said that he would never be nothing more than a villain even if he tried. High off of his own steam the same kid, as he was kicking him in the stomach, even bet him 100 yen that he couldn't even be a hero if he tried!
For some reason this "bet" stuck in his mind drowning out all of the other voices of the kids around him and once they stopped beating him for a period of rest Elias simply stood up with a smile on his face laughing saying "BET!" The idea even seemed kinda fun to him, the idea of breaking the trope that his father used (the standard I-kill-you-and-use-your-corpse, or the grave robber tropes, as it was the last thing that most would expect; plus the bet... So to win the bet Elias knew what he had to do; get into U.A.
With the entrance exam Elias actually somewhat performed better than most in both the written exam and the practical and could be considered one of the top 10 performers. He even used his Quirk to creep out more than a few of the other applicants to lessen the amount of points that they could get; demoralization is a powerful tool. His methods gave him nothing but Villain points though this didn't really matter to him after all that was more or less his natural state. Against the concerns of many of the teachers, especially those who knew the connection between him and his father, he was allowed into the academy and began the first step to winning the bet!... and to become a hero.

His quirk quite easily complements this. Though it should be noted that Elias does not use anesthetics... ever. You have to remember that he is used to working on dead ones; mortician for life!
