Shinigami - Kōdō

Name - Kōdō
Bubble Mage - Turns Reiatsu into a thin sheet that takes on the properties of a bubble.
Bubble shield. Transparent until hit. Shield.
Homing bubble attacks.

Character used to be a Shinigami, but nearly 70 years ago he was infected by a parasitic hollow which, while he was able to remove the parasite from his body, unfortunately destroyed his Zanpakuto, its inner world, as well as most of his Reiatsu. He had to sacrifice everything to expel the parasite, which his still alive somewhere, and the end he self exiled himself from Soul Society as the other Shinigami as though they would never say it to his face he could tell by the looks on their faces that they saw him as lesser or as though he was some unclean thing now. Knowing that they would never trust him again, after loosing all of his friends and comrades, he decided to resign from his post and move to the human world where he could live out the rest of his days in peace.
Dislikes Shinigami
He became somewhat of a drunk
However the experience of the Parasite had done something to his mentality as he became somewhat obsessed with them, their nature, and their origins. He began to study them in hopes to one day not only find the Parasite which had destroyed his life but also find a way to regain his Zanpakuto. Some believed that the parasite changed his soul as well to being closer to that of a hollow.
Former member of the Kido Corps specifically in the research division specializing in Hollows. Created 2 branch's of Kido known simply as Bubble Class Kido and Incense class Kido while he was still apart of Soul Society. Also specialized in Array Class Kido.
- Bubble class Kido is a unique branch of Kido which was his answer to the attempt to combine the destructive potential of Hadō and the defensive use of Bakudō.
Found a way to regenerate his Spiritual Abilities, via killing and absorbing hollows. He discovered the way to replicate the Hollows method of gaining strength via consumption and through the implantation of a Minor hollow within himself where he can then siphon off its Hollow Reiatsu, purify it via Arrays, then use "Pure" Shinigami Reiatsu for his attacks without the fear of being corrupted. He essentially uses his very own limited Reiatsu to purify Hollow Reiatsu. It took him nearly 13 years to find the perfect Hollow for implantation. He had to find one that was weak enough that his Spiritual abilities could control and pacify while one who had the potential to become a higher class of Hollow. He spent years first attempting to draw out Hollows from Hueco Mundo and attempt to trap them yet all of them were far too powerful for him to control. He only found the perfect Hollow when he himself went to Hueco Mundo and found what was essentially a critter hollow. Though during the last of his Hueco Mundo excursions he nearly died and since he has had PTSD about the realm. He requires hollows to become whole yet he is terrified of the realm they are from and most plentiful.
Learned many bad habits in the human world such as Pick-pocketing, sleight of hand, Smoking, Drinking, and being a general degenerate. He works part time at a Temp agency and Part Time as a Exorcist. He makes just enough money to fuel his habits and his apartment.
He appearance and spiritual aura has changed enough that even his former Shinigami fiends don't recognize him anymore. He looks much older and rough. Though to be fair he spent most of his days in a lab thus only his co-workers really remembered him; even his Captain didn't really know him. He was rather... unremarkable or memorable as a Shinigami.

Hueco Mundo Arc - A former member of his Division is lost in Hueco Mundo, everyone believes her to be dead due to circumstances and reject a rescue party to be sent. Several other of his former comrade track him down and beg him to help them. Eventually find out details that she was possessed by a Parasitic hollow, the same one that effected him. They have to travel to the "Edge of the World" to get to the Parasites territory and along the way powerful Hollows catch wind of their expedition and hunt them down.

For the majority of his life Kodo grew up in such an environment as he learned form an early age that he had to pitch in to help his family obtain a better position. His mother, in order to make money, was a servant in a much wealthier household which was located far beyond the borders of their home district and from time to time Kodo would have to tag along with his mother and help clean and cook in the wealthy household.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]
[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]It was during one of these times that while he was assisting his mother cook and serve dinner to their employers that one of the guests of the house, a Shinigami, took notice of Kodo and discovered that he had slightly higher than average Spiritual Energy which according to him might of been enough to allow him to become a Shinigami. Almost without question Kodo's mother knelled before the Shinigami before him and begged him to take her son with him. Before Kodo knew it, after he finished both dinner and his business at the home, he was escorted out of their employers home and brought into the Academy.

Knowing this, and even more knowing the value of hard work, Kodo worked and studied far more than any of his peers where his fellow students could use mere talent to pass the classes and tests Kodo would have to make up for it in knowledge and technique. Luckily this worked for him and years later he Graduated from the academy and was scouted into the 12th Division having his talents in books and research being took notice by his instructors. While they knew that he would never be a star or even one to stand out he would become a dutiful researcher.

[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]Nearly 100 years later, with his Zanpakuto unlocked many years earlier, Kodo was still dutifully within the 12th Division and over the years became one of the researchers who fell under "Hollow Research" and some could even say that he became somewhat of an expert in the field; least compared to his fellow unseated peers. While he could never compare to the Captain or even the seated members of the division he clearly stood out from his peers. It was also around his 100th anniversary within the Gotei 13 that his Lab was brought a rather interesting Hollow specimen; a parasite.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]
[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]According to the reports this Hollow was able to burrow its way into a host, take over its body, and slowly suck away its spiritual energy and talent in order to grow itself. Once there was nothing left of the host it would find a new host to continue the cycle. Luckily, by some luck, the Parasite was captured by a Shinigami patrol in the human world and brought back to the Research Division for further study and for nearly 3 years Kodo devoted his time to its study. However at some point there was an accident in the lab and Kodo was infected by the parasite. Unfortunately his peers did not figure out what had happened in time and Kodo was able to escape into the Rukongai District. Over time Kodo, who was not in control of his own body, could feel his spiritual energy being siphoned away by the parasite and eventually it reached a point where he could not even feel his Zanpakuto anymore. Kodo doesn't know how or when it happened but many months later he woke up in the mud famished and with little to no strength with the Parasite no where to be found. Even when he returned to the Research Division he was immediately captured and Quarantined; apparently he had done--unforgivable things while he was possessed by the parasite.

[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]After weeks of research Kodo was released and while he was forgiven from all the crimes he had committed while possessed he could tell that his peers would no longer look or speak to him the same way as they did before. He would hear whispers spoken about him, conversations would silence when he entered a room, and he was taken off all of his projects. It eventually came to the point where Kodo knew that nothing would be the same ever again and with great sorrow he handed in his resignation not just from the 12th division but from the Gotei 13 itself. It would be the last time that anyone saw him in Soul Society. Unbeknownst to them he had actually fled to the human world as a form of self exile in hopes to continue his research into the parasite that had destroyed his life and hopefully find a way to regain his Zanpakuto.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]

[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]Kodo, of the Rukongai District, was born into on the lower end of the economic spectrum and while his family was not of the poorest neither were they well off compared to their peers by any sense of the word; they merely survived a little bit better than others. For the majority of his life Kodo grew up in such an environment as he learned form an early age that he had to pitch in to help his family obtain a better position. His mother, in order to make money, was a servant in a much wealthier household which was located far beyond the borders of their home district and from time to time Kodo would have to tag along with his mother and help clean and cook in the wealthy household.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]
[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]It was during one of these times that while he was assisting his mother cook and serve dinner to their employers that one of the guests of the house, a Shinigami, took notice of Kodo and discovered that he had slightly higher than average Spiritual Energy which according to him might of been enough to allow him to become a Shinigami. Almost without question Kodo's mother knelled before the Shinigami before him and begged him to take her son with him. Before Kodo knew it, after he finished both dinner and his business at the home, he was escorted out of their employers home and brought into the Academy.

Knowing this, and even more knowing the value of hard work, Kodo worked and studied far more than any of his peers where his fellow students could use mere talent to pass the classes and tests Kodo would have to make up for it in knowledge and technique. Luckily this worked for him and years later he Graduated from the academy and was scouted into the 12th Division having his talents in books and research being took notice by his instructors. While they knew that he would never be a star or even one to stand out he would become a dutiful researcher.

[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]Nearly 100 years later, with his Zanpakuto unlocked many years earlier, Kodo was still dutifully within the 12th Division and over the years became one of the researchers who fell under "Hollow Research" and some could even say that he became somewhat of an expert in the field; least compared to his fellow unseated peers. While he could never compare to the Captain or even the seated members of the division he clearly stood out from his peers. It was also around his 100th anniversary within the Gotei 13 that his Lab was brought a rather interesting Hollow specimen; a parasite.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]
[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]According to the reports this Hollow was able to burrow its way into a host, take over its body, and slowly suck away its spiritual energy and talent in order to grow itself. Once there was nothing left of the host it would find a new host to continue the cycle. Luckily, by some luck, the Parasite was captured by a Shinigami patrol in the human world and brought back to the Research Division for further study and for nearly 3 years Kodo devoted his time to its study. However at some point there was an accident in the lab and Kodo was infected by the parasite. Unfortunately his peers did not figure out what had happened in time and Kodo was able to escape into the Rukongai District. Over time Kodo, who was not in control of his own body, could feel his spiritual energy being siphoned away by the parasite and eventually it reached a point where he could not even feel his Zanpakuto anymore. Kodo doesn't know how or when it happened but many months later he woke up in the mud famished and with little to no strength with the Parasite no where to be found. Even when he returned to the Research Division he was immediately captured and Quarantined; apparently he had done--unforgivable things while he was possessed by the parasite.

[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]After weeks of research Kodo was released and while he was forgiven from all the crimes he had committed while possessed he could tell that his peers would no longer look or speak to him the same way as they did before. He would hear whispers spoken about him, conversations would silence when he entered a room, and he was taken off all of his projects. It eventually came to the point where Kodo knew that nothing would be the same ever again and with great sorrow he handed in his resignation not just from the 12th division but from the Gotei 13 itself. It would be the last time that anyone saw him in Soul Society. Unbeknownst to them he had actually fled to the human world as a form of self exile in hopes to continue his research into the parasite that had destroyed his life and hopefully find a way to regain his Zanpakuto.[/font][/font][/font][/font][/font][/div][div][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"][font size="2"]
